Funding the Gap

Many patients face significant financial barriers even when they have insurance. Deductibles, out-of-network specialists, and non-covered but medically necessary procedures create insurmountable obstacles.

The Story Foundation will:

  • Provide direct financial assistance
  • Cover patient responsibility gaps
  • Support access to specialized surgical and diagnostic care
  • Ensure that medical necessity, not financial status, drives care decisions

For many individuals—especially women navigating complex conditions like endometriosis—these financial barriers often lead to delayed diagnoses, prolonged pain, and worsening health outcomes. Patients are frequently forced to choose between managing daily expenses and pursuing the care they need, creating a cycle where treatable conditions become chronic and more costly over time. The Story Foundation exists to break that cycle.

Through targeted financial support, the Foundation steps in at the most critical moments—when a patient has identified the right specialist or treatment plan but cannot move forward due to cost. By covering gaps such as high deductibles, travel for out-of-area care, or essential procedures not covered by insurance, we remove the barriers that stand between patients and life-changing care.

Beyond immediate assistance, this initiative is designed to create long-term impact. Enabling earlier access to appropriate care not only improves individual health outcomes, but also reduces the overall burden on the healthcare system by preventing complications and unnecessary interventions. Ultimately, Funding the Gap is about restoring choice, dignity, and control—ensuring that every patient has the opportunity to pursue the care that can truly change their story.
